Lime teamed up with ITV Granada, the BBC and agency Vision and Media to support the Media Foundation Placement scheme which enabled 20 people from black and Asian backgrounds gain entry into the Media.

During this highly successful year-long scheme, the trainees worked within the broad range of ITV Granada, BBC and Lime Pictures' departments - including the regional newsroom, factual and entertainment, web development, content production and drama. The media industry as a whole is renowned for not representing the national or regional make up of society, in terms of ethnicity and the MFPS was determined to redress the current imbalance and was therefore pleased that the vast majority of trainees went on to find full-time permanent employment in the industry. There is still so much more work to be done however and Lime Pictures is fully supportive of any initiatives which worked towards achieving a diverse workforce and is continually, actively, seeing partners to achieve this aim.
