The Only Way is Essex Success

The Only Way is Essex has enjoyed an award-winning 2011 so far. The show pulled off a surprise victory at the 2011 BAFTAs, defeating a critically acclaimed field of contenders to collect the YouTube Audience Award.

Only weeks later TOWIE enjoyed a double win in the Broadcast Digital Award collecting gongs for 'best entertainment programme' and 'best programme marketing', gongs that in turn helped the channel itself secure the 'channel of the year' and 'entertainment channel of the year' accolades.

Tony Wood, Lime's Creative Director and executive producer on TOWIE, was “delighted” with the performance.

He commented: “The show has been a huge success with the British public who have taken the cast into their hearts, but to be recognised within the television industry for creating a 'standout show that is witty, innovative and compelling' is a huge honour.

“We're thrilled that Lime Pictures has successfully brought this exciting new genre to British screens and is breaking new boundaries with it."
