Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate social responsibility is about corporate citizenship - being a responsible business. We recognise that our social, economic and environmental responsibilities to our stakeholders are integral to our business and we aim to demonstrate these responsibilities through our actions and within our corporate policies.

The Lime Pictures stakeholders include our employees, Group parent company, sub-contractors, customers and suppliers - be they creative partners, agents or formal business partners - and local community groups as well as the environment.

Lime Pictures’ approach to corporate responsibility is to understand the interests of our stakeholders and to voluntarily take further steps to improve the quality of our relationships with them; to take responsibility for the impact of our business activities and, where practicable, to extend our duty to our stakeholders beyond any legal obligation.

Whilst we endeavour to meet all our stakeholders’ expectations, this may not always be practical. Where this is not possible, we will take measures to explain, and be accountable for, the decisions we make and the actions we take in carrying out our work. In the first instance, the Company will account at Board level and to the Group parent company with monthly reports on health and safety, human resources and the environment as standard.

The scale and nature of the benefits of CSR will vary depending on the nature of a relationship with a particular stakeholder. If the relationship extends beyond or outside of financial support or legislative regulations it may be difficult to quantify but Lime Pictures is not looking at short-run financial returns when implementing CSR. We advocate and will include charitable efforts, volunteering, measures within human resources, business development and public relations within our CSR-type values.

Our environmental impacts are limited insofar as we exploit technologies which are basically friendly to the environment and we contribute positively to environmental well being and conserving resources through the ‘How Green Is Lime?’ programme. We are aware of the environmental and social implications of day-to-day consumer decisions and endeavour to make purchasing decisions related to our environmental and ethical concerns.

Social aspects include our approach to attracting and retaining a talented and diverse workforce, our charitable giving and community programmes.

CSR plays a big part in building loyalty within the Lime Pictures staff base derived from a genuine culture of ‘doing the right thing’. We strive for a usp to separate our business from the competition and believe the principles of Lime’s CSR programme for ethical values, integrity and best practice go a long way to make that difference.
