Celebs Go Dating is E4’s hugely successful flagship reality entertainment show.  Each series follows a group of celebrities as they embark on a journey of lust and love as the Celebrity Dating Agency pairs them up with hand-picked members of the general public.

Dating experts Anna Williamson & Paul C Brunson are on hand to couple the celebrities with potential love interests via a series of first dates and single mixer events, all in the hope true love will be found.  However, the course of true love never runs smoothly! Our cameras are there to watch the sparks fly and love blossom, but also to capture every embarrassing and awkward moment. Tom Read Wilson also stars.

Stripped across four weeks, each series offers 20 x 60-minute episodes, successfully targeting a young audience in the 9pm slot and proving to be an instant ratings hit. The hugely successful first series launched in 2016 and consolidated at 630,000/ 3.86% share, up a massive +101% for volume and +119% for share on slot average and was E4’s highest rating 10pm series of that year.  Celebs Go Dating also performed strongly with a 12.61% share of 16-34’s across the first series, up +220% on the slot average.

The most recent series to have transmitted, series seven, attracted an average 659,000 viewers with a 3.3% share, doubling the channel average.  The series attracted viewers to E4, trebling its audience from its lead-ins (The Big Bang TheoryYoung SheldonBrooklyn Nine Nine) and ranked first in its timeslot amongst multi-channels for All Individuals, and first against all other channels amongst Adults 16-34.  The show continues to perform very well amongst young viewers with a 13% share of Adults 16-34, more than trebling the slot average.  It’s also popular amongst upmarket audiences, series seven doubled the channel average for ABC1 Adults with a 3.3% share.

In 2019 the format was acquired for a local production in Germany.  RTL II commissioned a new German version, produced by Tower Productions, a joint venture of All3Media and BBC Studios. In the UK, Celebs Go Dating is now in production of its eighth series with over 145 episodes having transmitted on E4 so far.  Series five ranked as E4’s #1 entertainment show in 2018 and was nominated for a Broadcast Digital award.
